Assistant Principal's Page

Hello, Midway Families! I am so grateful to be at Midway to serve you all as your Assistant Principal. As you know, Midway is an incredible place to learn and grow for students and staff.

This is my 17th year in education. I spent most of my career teaching 3rd grade, but have taught 4th and Kindergarten too. I worked as a reading specialist for 3rd-5th grade, so I got to experience 5th grade as well for a little bit. I received my B.A. in Education from Wake Forest University, a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, and a Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State. I love learning and hope to instill that love throughout our school! I also spent time working at Baptist Children's Homes of NC while I completed my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. This experience allowed me to grow personally and professionally in ways for which I am forever thankful.

When I'm not at school, you can usually find me outside somewhere with my husband, our boys, and the dogs. I have two boys who are proud Midway Eagles as well. We have a Beagle named Lucy and a Lab named Hank. You may also find me in my kitchen cooking and baking, planting flowers, or cheering on my Demon Deacons!

I believe that every student is gifted with a unique and needed set of gifts. I believe that all students are capable of learning and achieving; and that students will rise to high expectations every time. I believe that we all want to do well, kindness matters, and grace is a daily must. I also believe that it is a privilege to partner with parents and our community as we strive to do what is best for students each and every day. Midway Eagles exceed expectations every day!
